Match the breakfast to the bike - slight refrain

My last competition post was one of my most popular. So here's the sequel....

Four bikes (apologies for the poor photo):-

  • GT Edge with Sushi bars
  • On-one Pompino with riser bars & 26" wheels
  • Vintage Chesini with drop bars
  • Norco Rev BMX
and four breakfasts
  • Avocado salso on sourdough with bacon
  • 'Hellenic' Eggs Benedict (ie with haloumi)
  • Avocado stack
  • Salmon omelette
Can you match them?

Tiebreaker - describe in 25 words or less the reaction of the lycra-clad roadie throng at Garage when we stopped off for coffee.....

  1. Reaction at Garage - How come they aren't wearing GreenEdge Pro Kit, everyone else is?

  3. you had me at "competition post"

    chesini: it goes with the benedict, cos it matches the discarded mesh-backed gloves by the plate.

    bmx: salmon omelette because if you ride a bmx you don't want rocket on your breakfast because you complain that it tastes "too peppery" (people under age 12 often have "immature palates")

    on-one: this reminds me of one of jonny's bikes, so I'm going with the ago salsa and bacon because he'd go for that over the stack.

    gt: so i guess this one goes with the stack.

    DID I WIN???!?!?!??!

  4. Only 1/4 I'm afraid. Hint - you match clothing better than food :-)

  5. My turn...

    GT with sushi = Salmon
    Pomp = Avo Salsa
    Chesini = Eggs Benedict with retro gloves
    BMX = Avo stack

    Did I beat Kitty?

  6. No hints from the coffees either - they're all finished and they were all long blacks. :)

    Mark - first go - 2/4.
    Mark - Second go - 0/4.

  7. Argh I was gonna try and figure it out by inventing a computer program that took mine and Mark's answers and then, like, did computery things to tell me the REAL ANSWER but it seems really hard. This is like one of those maths riddles (?) in the New Scientist.

    chesini: benedict
    bmx: avo salsa and bacon
    pompino: salmon
    gt: avo stack

    TIEBREAKER: the other day I was riding up the Col D'Aspin and a 70 yr old French roadie said to me, "If I was on that bike with those shoes, I would not be riding the Col D'Aspin." (teva sandals and a perfectly functional surly lht, but you know how dramatic these roadies are) So I'm guessing the reaction was, in unison:

    "If I was riding those bikes with those shoes, I would NOT be having breakfast at Garage."
