I'm a big fan of Malaysian food but sometimes when you've been away for a while you end up craving a western dish. So to celebrate my return from Malaysia we went to the Norman Hotel for lunch. The Norman is a classic old Australian pub with architecture going back to the end of the 19th Century
It also has a steakhouse attached which serves some of Brisbane's best steaks. Their tagline is 'Brisbane's worst vegetarian restaurant' and you can see why
Rib on the bone, 70 days grain fed from the Darling Downs in Qld. Served with mushroom sauce on the side and the usual side servings of Idaho potato (fluffy baked potato garnished with crunchy bacon bits) and a garden salad. Cooked medium rare, enough to blacken the outside but leave the inside still soft and tender. Lovely.
